This Institute is headed by a Principal. This project was completed at a total cost of Rs. 4.225 million. Two years' certificate is provided in Land & Mine Surveying Technology by Mining Development Cell, Lahore to the qualifying students. The main objectives of this Institute are as under:
- To provide infra-structure to act as feed to the statutory Survey Competency Examination
- To produce readily trained Mine Surveyors
- To help the firms in maintaining the mine plans as per statutory requirements
- To help in providing the working conditions underground both in safety and conservation of minerals
The matriculate students with science subjects from all over Pakistan are invited for admission to the certificate course. The first batch of twenty (20) students was inducted in September, 1989 and after completing two years' certificate course in Mine Surveying was available to mineral sector in September, 1991. The scope was enhanced to forty (40) students in 1994. The 28th batch of sixty (60) students was admitted in September, 2016 with special approval of the Chief Inspector of Mines, Punjab. Uptill now, 660 students have been qualified from the Institute and are serving in different organizations.
Distinction
The only institute in Pakistan, providing two (02) years’ vocational training in Mine Surveying Technology.
