Board of Examiners constituted under Regulations 29 to 52 of the Coal Mines Regulations, 1926 consists of the Chief Inspector of Mines as Chairman of the Board and three members possessing technical qualifications fitting them to serve in the Board, appointed by the Government for a term of three years. The following certificates are granted after taking prescribed examinations by the Board:
- First Class Mine Managers’ Certificate of Competency
- Second Class Mine Managers’ Certificate of Competency
- Mine Surveyors’ Certificate of Competency (to survey the working of a mine)
- Mine Sirdar’s Certificate of Competency (to make the inspection hereinafter required by Regulation 70)
- Shot Firer’s Certificate of Competency (to fire shots in a mine)
Full information regarding the date and place of each examination for Managers’ and Surveyors’ Certificate is published by the Board of Examiners, three months prior to the date fixed by the Board for receiving applications.
