In-Service Training and Examination

Fatalities can be prevented. All miners should return home injury free each day. Effective safety and health management programs save lives. Workplace examinations for hazards can identify and eliminate the dangers that kill and injure miners. Effective and appropriate training will help to ensure that miners recognize and understand hazards and know how to control or eliminate them.

Training plays a fundamental role to protect the miners from illness and injury on the job. Inspections alone cannot keep the mines accident-free. In-service training is provided to the mine workers with a vision to give them awareness about safety measures to be taken by them at work places. Such training also enables the miners to do their jobs in a proficient way and is crucial to the reduction of accidents and occupational diseases.

A Training Section headed by Training Officer at Headquarters office carries out this important task as per notified training programmes under the Punjab Mining Staff and Workers Training Regulations, 1999. The following in-service training courses are organized at mines and quarry sites for which participation certificates are issued:

  • Shot Firer’s Training Course
